One Star Minerals is an oil and gas investment company headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
One Star Minerals is privately funded and specializes in mineral and royalty acquisitions in the Permian Basin and Haynesville Shale.
We purchase mineral rights, oil and gas royalties, overrides, and non-participating royalty interests of any size, while quickly and accurately assessing the value of these interests.
Over a decade of oil and gas experience allows our management team to strategically evaluate and acquire both producing and non-producing properties at fair and competitive prices.

Co-founder, Managing Partner
Kel Presley
Kel is a co-founder and managing partner of One Star Minerals, where he’s responsible for deal generation and decision-making in evaluation and acquisitions, along with overseeing the management of the company.
Prior to One Star Minerals, he spent over 3 years at Cortez Resources as a landman sourcing and facilitating mineral acquisitions mainly in the Permian Basin. While at Cortez, Kel was able to acquire and divest thousands of acres while, most importantly, developing valuable and strategic relationships. Prior to joining Cortez, he worked as an A&D Analyst and Business Development at Trek Resources in Dallas, TX.
Prior to Trek, Kel worked as a landman at Desert Royalty Company, a mineral acquisition company based in Midland, TX. Before Desert Royalty, he worked for K. E. Andrews Company, an oil and gas consulting company, based in Rockwall, TX.

Austin Zouzalik
Austin Zouzalik is a co-founder and managing partner of One Star Minerals, where he’s responsible for deal generation, evaluation, and acquisition, along with overall management of the company. Prior to starting One Star Minerals, Austin worked with Cortez Resources, LLC, where he was engaged in business development and mineral acquisitions throughout the Permian Basin.
Prior to Cortez Resources, he was a landman at Chesapeake Energy Corporation, an E&P company headquartered in Oklahoma City. At Chesapeake, he was part of the team that divested 400,000 net acres and over 250 operated wells in West Virginia and southwestern Pennsylvania to Southwestern Energy for $5 billion.
Austin is also a member of The TouchDown Club of Dallas, an organization of like-minded men working together to raise charitable donations and contributions through various annual events that directly benefit the Ashford Rise School of Dallas.
